Recently Ferguson expanded it’s warehouse and office spaces from 20,000 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft. In that time, we have relocated much of our office staff. It’s amazing when you move how much that changes the daily operation of your business.

For example, once the accountant used to be beside the operations manager and now they have their own offices.  The amount of communication didn’t change, but the way in which they communicated had to. Also, we have been growing and hiring more staff, this leads to more and more department areas that communicate about moving.

The other thing that we discovered was the amount of things you can really do without when you move. Obsolete office furniture and older computers that nobody had the guts to get rid of. When you move, it really forces you to ask the question do we need this and does anyone use it?
